And the only lust he ever feels nowadays
Is what you see in those emerald eyes of his
As he watches bright red blood slowly drip down
From the blade held against your cold, sliced neck

Oh, but the sight you can watch - your very last
Wherever you end, these eyes will never leave you
In every second of what afterlife you live, you'll see
The reflection of your death shown from these eyes

While in the hospital, beeping monitors could never hide
The terror in her voice as she screamed his description:
The sight of that beautiful pair of gorgeous green eyes
Darkening with want as her life slipped in his very arms

I can promise you that you'll be one I can't forget,
The way even your eyes shined with fear in my blade...
I loved how they carefully slid shut while my knife danced,
The way your ocean eyes became drowned in blood

The policemen shared the news of the death with the family
As her father's head hung, her mother could only gape
Her older brother simply sat in the back of the room, silent
Not a sound from him as he stood in the darkness

Thanks to you, I did it again - I couldn't help it
The irresistibility of such a beautiful red color...
Because of you... My blade found yet another victim
But oh, well - my payback is climbing the stairs to heaven

As the parents turned and walked to the back,
They encased their son in a heavy embrace -
Behind them, the policemen watched in horror
While emerald eyes glinted off a glimmering blade

And the only lust he ever feels is from the regret
As his emerald eyes dull from murderous pain
Whilst he gazes upon bright, glistening red
His blade held against another's neck
I forgot to post this when I wrote it however long ago... Inspired by one of the seven deadly sins: lust. Actually, it was mainly inspired by a debate with someone over the why or why not murder isn't a deadly sin. I began thinking, and connected the idea of sinful death to idea of the lust for blood.

Good poem!

Blood-lust definitely has an interesting (an eerie) double-meaning.

Interesting, I love it. Bloodlust, sometimes people can't control such things.

I've.. I've never really thought about it that way before.
This is a beautiful poem though, full of sadness and terror.

I never thought of it that way myself, until I wrote about five other previous versions and got in the character's head. And thank you. :D
Creepy and eerie. I like it. And the inspiration behind it is quite interesting as well.

It was an interesting topic... I never speak in class, but when I do - it's debates with those kind of topic that occur. Meow Evil
I guess debates are more interesting than regular classes.

Aside from being so much more interesting then lessons, they also work as the perfect distraction from them, too. :D
Very true. It's different and we feel more free to speak.
